Still hoping for a native solution, that I can use on Rpi though. Not sure it is the same chipset. It should be the same one, since I doubt there are 2 chipsets with the same name, but I think these drivers are not for a USB interface to the module and I have no idea how to proceed. Drivers were reverse engineered and hacked together, and an elegant solution was found in the form of NDISwrapper. PID combination was not present in any of them, so I guess the current behavior is actually expected. How did you force it?

I guess Linux makes many things easier that way. Sorry for the delay, I was out of town. Firmware is available from the Linux firmware repository at:. If ndiswrapper is working correctly, NM will show and allow connection to networks the same as any native driver. PNL ] [ There is a huge difference of size between them, so I may be way off, but maybe not I had the nice surprise that it was actually a USB interface so I said let’s try to make it work.

Bus Device I bfm4319 found some references to apparent drivers for the same BCM chipset, at these locations: The third appears to be written for a Palm device!!! The driver is available in linux mainline and development is done on the wireless-testing tree, available at:.
I suggest you install it first: Not sure it is the same chipset.
Formerly the Community Manager for Linux. The kernel log will tell you the exact file name.
For the Windows driver, I got the tip from here: This bcn4319 may impact how and where products appear on this site including, for example, the order in which they appear. The driver is also available in the 3. I have only seen usb broadcom adaptors work with ndiswrapper and I beleive that is your only option.
In any case, is there no chance to try a native driver?
Ubuntu on a laptop is just the first step for me I use To unload and blacklist: I would like to avoid ndiswrapper, firstly because it looks really complicated not that I am afraid of that, but I have the feeling that with the same kind of effort I may be able to get a proper driver working, which would be more efficient and also is not supported by Openelec for Raspberry Pi. If this can be made to work you will have to use ndiswrapper or compile a driver from source after making changes to some files but I linkx not have enough time and experience to help you with that.
The end goal is to make it work with a Raspberry Pi.

But in the broader sense excuse the punwhat does this mean for Linux? When using ‘make menuconfig’ it can be accessed: This generation of chips contain additional regulatory support independent of the driver. On the other hand they are not standard soft MAC devices, so they can’t be supported by brcmsmac or b I searched the web up and down but did not find a solution.
